Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Service Writer. As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our Heavy Truck service department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the Heavy Duty industry and strong communication skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet customers and assist them with their service needs
- Schedule appointments and manage the service department's calendar
- Communicate with customers about their vehicle's repair status and provide updates
- Prepare accurate estimates for repairs and services
- Coordinate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Upsell additional services or products to customers when appropriate
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of payments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a dealership or heavy truck repair shop
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Motivated team player, with the ability to work unsupervised
- Strong ability to listen to others and be able to interpret issues and pass accurate information onto others
- Reliable transportation (public transportation not available)
- Ability to proactively problem solve and think logically
- Previous CDK/ADP experience is an asset

- The Diesel Shop is a locally owned and operated dealership specializing in CAT, Cummins and International warranty and repairs. We have been in business for 30 years offering parts and service through our extensive product lines and OEM trained technicians

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- service advisor: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
