Position: Bookkeeper

The Bookkeeper is responsible for Recording all the financial transactions of the business (sales, receipts, purchases and disbursements). They ensure the accuracy of the journals and ledgers, calculate and prepare government remittances (HST/GST, WSIB, payroll Tax), and create internal financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and other Financial Reports required) for Trillium Hatchery.
- Record daily company transactions, all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Filing source documents for all journal entries recorded.
- Posting journal entries to ledger accounts.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Issuing invoices
- Paying accounts on behalf of the organization.
- Performing payroll administration duties.
- Performing other duties as required.
- HST/GST calculation for the remittances
- Tax, Payroll and WSIB calculations for the remittances.
- Prepare for monthly and year-end financial reporting.
- Bank statement and credit card statement entries and monthly reconciliations.
- Performs all the necessary activities for the effective operation of the position.
- Plans and organizes the workflow and submits reports as necessary.
- Develops and maintains positive peer relationships.
- Maintains professional discretion, competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Performs individual assignments as the Financial Controller and Hatchery Manager may direct.
- 2-5 years’ experience minimum
- Proficiency in QuickBooks online, Outlook, Excel computer programs..
- Diligent and attention to detail
- Friendly, outgoing, positive, people skills, effective communication skills; verbal and written.
- Highly motivated, disciplined and organized.
- Salary based on Experience.
- Full time, Permanent

- 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Hours are flexible within this time frame.
