**About AdvEn**

AdvEn develops and commercializes a variety of clean technologies that manufacture high value-added materials from bitumen-derived refinery residues. We are currently building a plant in Nisku, which also houses the operations leadership and an advanced Research and Development lab. More than twenty staff from scientists to shift workers operate from this location. The company’s head office is in Calgary, Canada, which connects to the Nisku operation both in-person and virtually.

**About the Role**

We are currently seeking a full-time Production Plant Shift Lead for our new facility based in Nisku, Alberta. Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for the safe operations of all equipment also coordinate and supervise other Plant Operators and will be engaged in all phases of plant operation. The Shift lead will be responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the production line and its staff. The Shift lead will coordinate with the Maintenance Lead on any maintenance and preventative maintenance within the plant. This will be a hands-on position.

**Principle Accountabilities**
- Identify equipment and process improvement opportunities and recommend production line enhancements
- Effectively communicate routine and non-routine activities with co-workers
- Carry out routine operating activities, such as sample collection, monitor production and be able to operate all equipment
- Maintain a descriptive and accurate daily operator log
- Develop, utilize, and update Standard Operating Procedures
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are in place and are followed
- Execute work in accordance with AdvEn’s standards and procedures
- Review and stay up to date on industry standards and best practices
- Able to read blueprints and schematics
- Able to perform lockout tagout procedure
- Be a leader in safety and follow the HSE program

**Qualifications, Abilities, and Skills Required**
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Minimum 10 years as a plant operator
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a group of plant operators
- Basic knowledge of general computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- (LSE) Certificate for Leadership for Safety Excellence or other leadership certificates would be considered an asset
- Direct experience in chemical/petroleum processing plant or other related manufacturing processes
- Specific knowledge in material conveyance, and/or rotary kilns is considered an asset
- Strong background in Health & Safety leadership
- Excellent interpersonal skills and skilled in people management, delegation, conflict resolution
- Dedicated to safety, attention to detail, quality and excellence
- Continuous improvement mindset and pride in your own workmanship
- Motivated and self-driven to take initiative and accomplish the mandate you are assigned to
- Must be a strong team player
- Must have reliable transportation

**Working Conditions**
- Infrequent weekend or evening work may be required
- AdvEn’s operations are paperless therefore this role will require someone who is technologically proficient and computer-savvy

**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand/work for long periods, kneel occasionally, repetitive movements
- Hardworking with a strong work ethic
- Able to climb stairs and ladders

**Reports to**
- Plant Operations Manager

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
