The Manager, Plant Operations oversees the end-to-end mail processing operation of all value streams implements process improvements and ensures that operating targets, service and production standards and customer service requirements are consistently met.

**Responsibilities**:
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Plant Operations.
- Accountable for the efficiency, quality and effectiveness of all plant operations, plant systems and plant productivity while simultaneously meeting corporately established performance, service, financial security and safety standards.
- Directs the administration and operational performance of the Plant and the processing and distribution of mail of all types on a national and international basis.
- Determines and sets Plant goals and objectives according to Corporate and Divisional strategies and priorities and towards the achievement of optimal plant productivity and efficiency.
- Develops and manages the implementation of guidelines, plans and programs for mail processing, support operations and support services such as personnel, financial and administrative services; transportation, marketing and security.
- Works with Collection and Delivery Services and Network Operations Management in determining the scheduling of volume in order to adjust Plant hours of operation as required.
- Establishes and maintains effective control and reporting systems and meets all Corporate data and information requirements.

**Job Responsibilities (continued)**:

- Implements, in accordance with Corporate policy and procedures, effective financial planning and control mechanisms and monitors their implementation to achieve the establishment of sound financial practices within the Plant.
- Maintains direct communication with National Mail Processing for information on operational directives and guidance and direction on budget performance and procedures. Determines that all budget limits and attendance objectives are adhered to and met.
- Immediately reports any plant breakdown, equipment failures and known circumstances to Divisional or National Centers ensuring continuous communication on any service failures.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- Completed post-secondary education in a related field.

Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant functional experience.
- 2 or more years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs and other job relevant programs.
- Excellent team building and leadership skills experience.
- Sound organizational, analytical, judgment and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.
- Solid interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset.
- Adept at relationship management and motivating others.
- Highly influential with strong negotiation skills.
- Sound judgement and decision making abilities.
- Skilled in change management and project execution.
