We are looking for a
**_Claims Specialist._**
Are you looking to make a difference? To use your analytical ability to make decisions? As a member of the Living Benefit Claims department, you will be responsible for adjudicating individual disability and critical illness claims with the goal of accepting all payable claims in accordance with the terms of the actual individual policy.
**What you will do**
- Developing the claim file by assessing various factors (medical, finances, occupation) required to assess the disability
- Reviewing all the information when received and arriving at a decision to either accept or deny the claim
- Consulting with the Medical Board, accountant, legal counsel and peers
**What you will bring**
- Previous experience in a similar role requiring good judgement skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadline driven tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Proven analytical ability
- Proven ability to make decisions independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
- Strong customer service skills
- Bilingual in English and French as an asset
