Plains currently has a position open for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner with a strong background in mechanical maintenance, based in the Fort Saskatchewan NGL Facility in Alberta, supporting the NGL West District. This opportunity is based in the Fort Saskatchewan Fractionation Facility in Alberta, supporting the NGL West areas. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective planning of short-term and long-term maintenance activities at the Fort Saskatchewan facility through sound planning practices, PMC standards and safety-focused strategies. Work plans will be developed using inputs from multiple groups including Integrity, Elec/Inst, Mechanical, Engineering and Operations.

Key Accountabilities:

- Adopt and align to PMC procedures, best practices, and work flows.
- Display functional competencies regarding safety leadership, equipment safety, and maintenance execution.
- Work constructively within a high demand environment.
- Provide experienced-based input to enhance existing elements of Planning and Scheduling program.
- Lead daily meetings to review, qualify, and prioritize emerging work with key stakeholders;
- Being an active steward of the environment and H&S by supporting the PMC Operations Management System.
- Work collaboratively with Integrity group on scope alignments and long-term forecasting.
- Identify Scopes of Work (simple, complicated, complex) and create detailed work plans that address all planning elements. Including but not limited to task analysis: internal/external resource requirements, accurate task duration estimates, material/component requirements and long-lead identification, hazard identification and mitigations, technical documentation requirements, tooling requirements, craft support services.
- Develop accurate Material lists (MTO).
- Develop scope and bid documents for Vendor services.
- Develop accurate budgetary cost summaries for forecasted estimates.
- Collaborate with Operations, Discipline Leads, Scheduler and other stakeholders to prepare planned work for scheduling
- Actively manage Planner backlog to achieve timely completion of work packs to within target start dates.
- Assemble complete job packages for approval.
- Assist with PM optimization, job plan development, and participate in the continuous improvement loop.
- Coach new users or groups on proper Maximo usage and navigation.
- All job plans will follow and adhere to PMC regulatory, safety, environmental, security, and health procedures/policies.
- Support master data standards.
- Participate in departmental goal development/realignments and achievement strategies.
- Support vacation coverage as required and assume responsibilities.
- Follow proper procurement practices.
- Champion key departmental KPI’s.
- Cultivate and foster productive and professional relationships with vendors and stakeholders alike.

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED required;
- Millwright RSE preferred, other relevant mechanical trade certification or Technical Diploma will be considered;
- 10+ years of quality knowledge & hands on experience with mechanical maintenance execution on pumps, compressors, arial coolers and pressure equipment in a facility setting.
- 5+ years in a maintenance planning role.
- High-level user of Microsoft suite of tools.
- Knowledge of Maximo or relevant CMMS with a background in RCM would be an asset.
- Shutdown/Turn around experience an asset.
- Goal orientated/self-starter with excellent time-management skills.
- Able to positively influence others and lead by example.
- Strong interpersonal skills capable of productive interaction under any circumstance.
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs to gain access.
- Primary residency within 120 KM of the Fort Saskatchewan facility is required.
- Standard site qualifications: H2S Awareness, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSE
