**POSITION** **DESCRIPTION**:
The Policy and Project Coordinator will work primarily on policies and use remaining time to support projects.

Policy

The Coordinator will provide expertise, coordination and support in the development, revision, approval and implementation of corporate clinical and administrative policies, procedures and medical directives. The person in this role will implement the Corporate Policy and Procedure Framework, as well as undertake other projects to enhance and improve the organization’s policy and procedure infrastructure, as well as implement other key strategic organizational improvements. This position also coordinates corporate risk management.

Projects

The Coordinator contributes to the development, implementation, evaluation and on-going coordination of activities related to CHEO projects. The incumbent will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management and coordination activities including excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), project development, project implementation, project monitoring, project budget development/ management, communications, quality, risk and evaluation.

**Responsibilities**:
Policy:

- Managing the development, review, revision and implementation of corporate policies, medical directives and protocols, including providing direction to policy issuers and stakeholders
- Providing advice and consultative support to ensure the organization meets legislative requirements and addresses high risk needs
- Developing and implementing tools, education and other strategies which build the capacity of front-line staff and leaders to identify, develop and implement appropriate policies which support best practice and manage organizational risk
- Developing and implementing communication and tools to support leaders in monitoring and managing the development and update of policies and procedures within their portfolios
- Developing and facilitating policy education
- Maintaining the corporate Policy site and posts approved policies and procedures
- Maintaining and supports an ongoing Policy refresh/review schedule
- Ensuring appropriate tracking and storage of corporate policies and procedures
- Supporting the update, posting and tracking of medical directives
- Ensuring policies, procedures comply with CHEO standards
- Leading or providing support for corporate initiatives which support the organization’s policy and procedure infrastructure or the achievement of the organization’s strategic directions
- Supporting stakeholders with the risk management process
- Participating in the improvement of the corporate risk management framework
- Performing work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Projects**:

- Develop project schedules including identifying activities to produce project deliverables, identifying dependencies, number of work periods, analyzing activity sequences, activity durations, and resource requirements
- Lead the development of all required project documentation
- Work with project teams to evaluate project performance, monitor specific project results and identify ways to eliminate causes of unsatisfactory performance.
- Work with the project teams to identify, document, and assign project roles, responsibilities, and reporting relationships for the human resources for the projects.
- Determine the information and communications needed by the stakeholders and ensure needed information is available to project stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collect and disseminate project documentation (e.g. status reporting, progress measurement, and forecasting).
- Assess and implement risk analysis activities and mitigation strategies for the project.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- College Diploma or University Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience (Essential)
