Reporting to the Manager, Housing Operations, the Property Management Assistant provides administrative support to Property Managers for the day-to-day property management of city-owned affordable and community housing units. The Property Management Assistant (PMA) will be familiar with the Housing Services Act and Residential Tenancies Act. This includes the determination of ongoing eligibility for rent-geared-to-income assistance, tenant placement and rent-geared-to-income subsidies for tenants, accounts receivable and payable support by receiving rent payments and processing invoices for payment. The PMA will also provide property management administrative support for a private non-profit housing corporation.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12) or equivalent plus additional post-secondary training in office administration, business and/or accounting.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of rent-geared-to-income policies and procedures. Demonstrated mathematicalskills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, Excel, Yardi Property Management System.
- Knowledge of social housing legislation (Housing Services Act), regulations, manuals, local policies andprocedures related to social housing in general and, specifically, related to the rent-geared-to-incomecalculations.
- Knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act and Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act(MFIPPA).
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required to deal effectively with people often in stressfuland sensitive situations. Strong customer focus and a results-oriented attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills are required to meet numerous deadlines.
- This position requires respect for confidentiality, human rights and the dignity of clients.

**WAGE/SALARY RANGE**:$26.72 to $28.41 per hour (35 hours per week) plus benefits.
