Who you are
- You have a passion for working with people and are motivated by creating a safe and secure place to work in a fast-paced environment
- You have at least 3 years of work experience in Loss Prevention, Safety and Security, Risk or Asset Management (or a similar field)
- You hold a valid provincial security license and Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (with AED), and are WZ and CPR trained (strongly preferred but not mandatory)
- You have experience using Access Control, CCTV, and alarm systems
- You are detail focused, able to identify root causes of problems, and implement solutions with a continuous improvement approach
- You are as cool as a cucumber under pressure and can quickly and confidently react in a crisis
- You handle sensitive and confidential investigations with extreme professionalism and integrity
- You are able to build relationships in an easy and trustful way, and are able to influence at all levels of the organization
- Your reliability and knowledge make you a “go-to” person for our co-workers who need education and support on safety and security issues
- You have strong knowledge of local/federal laws and court procedures

**Your responsibilities**
- Lead and develop a proactive and comprehensive agenda to promote health and safety, protect the IKEA brand and assets, and mitigate risks
- Maintain a safe and secure environment in our unit and on our property for our customers and our co-workers
- Keep your team up to date with local laws, regulations, standards and Health and Safety processes (including fire and building safety codes)
- Support your team’s growth through regular talent development discussions, continuous on-the-job training and coaching
- Identify, plan, and facilitate training for unit employees and external partners to meet Ingka and Local (country and regional) requirements within the areas of risk and compliance
- Identify and mitigate health, safety and security risks using the Risk Management Process (e.g. root cause analysis, emerging risks, influencing factors, mitigation plans)
- Build strong internal and external relationships across the country, gaining understanding about their needs and their buy-in for your initiatives and programs
- Conduct internal investigations - analyzing unit processes and data in collaboration with local and country stakeholders, following Ingka Group rules and standards to ensure compliance
- Always work to improve current processes and procedures, aligned with the Business objective as well as the Global Risk direction
- Ensure timely reporting and handling of all incidents through IRS (Incident Reporting System)
- Maintain an effective insurance claims handling and reporting process
