**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Clothes Line is Bradford’s premier second-hand clothing store. The Clothes Line stores support the work of CONTACT Community Services, by selling locally donated clothing to the community. Sales from the Clothes Line Stores help support families and individuals in need through our Housing Support Services, Employment programs and services and our Seniors and Community initiatives. Primarily volunteer run, The Clothes Line is a place where everyone matters.
The Clothes Line is seeking an outgoing and customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a Summer Retail Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. As an in-store team leader, you will assist in the training and recruitment of volunteers, organize incoming donations, and create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system
- Maintain a neat and organized store environment
- Assist in the creation of innovative store displays
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and cash handling
- Collaborate with volunteers to create a friendly and vibrant space
- Assist with social media marketing
- Collaborate with volunteers and staff in the execution of local events; i.e. Carrot Fest
Qualifications:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of fashion trends and a passion for retail sales
A criminal reference check is required.
**SUPERVISION**:
The Retail Associate will be primarily supervised by the Manager of The Clothes Line. Strict adherence to health and safety policies is critical for this position.
**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks
Pay: $16.55 per hour
