- This position will run from August 26 to December 29, 2024.- You will engage with young people directly in elementary schools across Canada.- The roles involve variable work shifts (which may include evenings and weekends).

Produced by ICI Alberta, _Oniva_ airs on ICI TÉLÉ and can also be streamed on ICI TOU.TV. This 15-minute TV series covers a weekly topic that the hosts explore in-depth with kids across the country. Each _Oniva_ season comprises 18 episodes of original content targeting viewers aged 8-11. The show follows a magazine format, featuring interviews, reports, fun facts, streeters and games.

Your role:
On a continuing and regular basis, you play a leading role in hosting the kids’ show _Oniva_ for audiences aged 8-11, acting as a great ambassador and projecting a positive image to young people. You may be asked to participate as needed in public or community relations activities to promote programs and/or the Corporation.

Key tasks:
- You will host segments filmed in the studio and on location in schools.- In addition to learning scripts, you must be creative during shoots to engage spontaneously with kids and be able to make adjustments on the fly.- You must maintain an interest in and knowledge of the stories and issues that matter to audiences aged 8-11.- You may be required to do additional shoots or voice-over work to meet _Oniva_ needs (interviews, social media, promotions, etc.) and may perform any other task associated with the function of host.- University degree or equivalent- Five (5) years of comparable and relevant experience that demonstrates knowledge of the broadcasting industry- Ability to conduct interviews daily and engage with our target audience of kids 8-11- Strong acting, theatre, improvisation or emceeing skills (TV, social media)- Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French- Good knowledge of English- Good knowledge of social platforms and other digital apps- Broad general knowledge and an interest in the stories and issues that matter to kids

Subjective criteria:
- Comfort in front of the camera and before a live audience (including groups of kids)- Ability to work with a variety of teams- Ability to be open-minded and resourceful- Proven on-air hosting skills in a variety of conditions- Proven ability to work well under pressure in an environment with occasionally tight deadlines- Creativity, energy and sense of humour- Leadership- Organizational skills
