**Position Summary**:
THP is seeking a passionate health and safety professional to support us in achieving our mission of being “a new kind of healthcare for a healthier community”. Reporting to the Manager, People Safety, you will support THP in improving the overall health, safety, and wellbeing of individuals. This will be achieved by educating, training, and providing staff with appropriate protective equipment, completing workplace inspections, following up on workplace incidents, and supporting safety initiatives to meet legislative compliance and promote a safe, healthy and respectful environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and conduct respirator fit testing at all locations. This includes N95 respirators, ½ face respirators, and powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs).
- Educate individuals on mask donning and doffing, including the purpose, selection, use and limitations of masks.
- Educate individuals on proper inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of respirators.
- Review employee health and safety incidents and assist with initial follow-up and investigations.
- Assist with conducting Joint Health and Safety Committee workplace inspections.
- Collect key metrics and develop reports for monitoring injury trends and measuring safety performance using both leading and lagging indicators.
- Update employee records in Parklane system.
- Other duties to support operational and continuous improvement matters involving health and safety.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Post secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- Occupational Health and Safety certificate preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in occupational health and safety.
- Health and safety experience in a healthcare setting considered an asset.
- Good attention to detail and critical thinking skills to identify safety hazards, problem solve mitigation strategies, and provide accurate reporting.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or collaboratively as a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with workplace parties and educate staff.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
