**Overview**:
The Fundraising Associate will support the Fundraising and Public Relations Director in day-to-day activities of a multi-faceted Development and Communications Department. This position will have a large focus on donor care, donation management and donor communications. The incumbent will be responsible for the administrative duties associated with donor care, donation management and donor communications. The Fundraising Associate also provides copy editing for donor communications and content for social media, while supporting and enhancing all ongoing donor strategies.

**Specific Responsibilities**:
**Donor Care - 25%**:

- Support fundraising events
- Complete Gift in Kind (GIK) donation requests
- Assist in writing and editing of donor correspondence
- Produce and mail donor thank you packages and letters

**Donation management - 40%**:

- Manage and maintain donor software through accurately inputting donor information, gift amount, contact notes, and other related info
- Manage and maintain monthly partner donations
- Provide regular reports to third party service providers
- Complete one-time and/or annual tax receipts for donors
- Develop and produce a variety of reports in donor software (Virtuous) and MS Excel
- Complete monthly donation reconciliation reports

**Donor communications - 20%**:

- Create and schedule regular social media posts
- Update website making changes as requested
- Design communications materials (i.e., graphics for social media posts)
- Manage a rolling social media calendar

**Fundraising Events - 15%**:

- Provide support for major fundraising events
- Assist donors with third party fundraising platforms (i.e., peer to peer sites)
- Assist with overall event organization, event day site setup and registration
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

**Qualifications***:
**Education**:

- Completion of post-secondary education in fundraising or related field

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fundraising or similar role.
- Data management experience is a benefit.
- Experience in donor relations is an asset.
- Development and communications experience is an asset.

**Certifications**:

- Foundations of Fundraising Course or similar course is useful

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required to be successful in this position**:

- Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and reports.
- Ability to analyze and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets and forms.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
- Proficient with WordPress, Canva, Buffer.
- Sound knowledge and experience with donor database software (Virtuous)
- Ability to utilize social media platforms and website management tools.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.

**Requirements**:

- Vulnerable Sector Check/Police Check
- Valid, unrestricted Class “G” Driver's licence
- Ministry of Transportation Drivers Abstract
- Employment Medical Form including immunization record and fitness assessment
- Statement of Faith Agreement bonification
