**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide technical input and expertise to operations, projects and legacy properties for water and climate change resiliency related-work, assessments, and reviews. This could include providing technical input to water balance models, hydraulic designs, hydrologic assessments and associated technical reports.
- Keep informed of innovation, industry developments, and regulatory requirements in water management and climate change resiliency and support dissemination across Teck.
- Lead the collection, compilation and analysis of monthly and annual water data from operations to support identification of Teck's risks and opportunities related to water, as well as Teck's internal and external reporting commitments (e.g. Teck's Sustainability Report, CDP, S&P CSA).
- Support Teck’s operations with the development, maintenance, and revisions of water management plans.
- Support the development and planning of climate change resiliency strategies for water, including preparation of guidance documents related to climate change and water management.
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental protocols.
- Other responsibilities, as required or assigned.

**Key Competencies**:

- Engineering or Science degree in a water-related related field (e.g. environmental engineering, geochemistry, hydrogeology, water resources).
- Five to ten years of progressive professional experience. Mining operations experience would be an asset.
- Technical understanding in one or more fields of hydrology, hydrogeology, hydraulics, geochemistry, water quality, environmental impact assessments, water balances, and water management planning.
- Technical knowledge of water modelling tools such as GoldSim and mineral equilibrium models (e.g. PHREEQC or Geochemists Workbench) is an asset.
- Enjoy the interpretation and synthesis of complex data sets to support water management and climate change resiliency decision making for a range of audiences.
- Knowledge or excitement to learn about probabilities and climate models. Experience working with consultants on climate change data and risk assessments would be an asset.
- Motivated self-starter, able to work under mínimal supervision, manage several projects simultaneously, adapt to changing situations, and identify/resolve problems.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- The desire to work on a team.
- Travel will be required as part of this position.
- Fluency in Spanish would be an asset for this position.
