**Title**: Logistics Specialist

**Reports To**: Logistics Manager

**Location of the Job**: Steinway Blvd, Toronto, ON or Victoria St N. Kitchener, ON

**Job Summary**

The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in getting Freshstone Brands products to our customers in a timely manner. They are responsible for the execution and coordination of all transportation matters within the organization, and across the FBI Network. The Logistics Specialist plans, and implements vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, and communication functions in accordance with established policies and objectives to effect economical utilization of assets. This includes meeting budgeted targets, organizing schedules & routes, route consolidation, source carriers and ensuring they meet all legal & CTPAT requirements. Negotiate freight lane rates, both LTL & TL. Works with customs broker to ensure cross border documentation is filed correctly. Works with PD & Sales to align samples for customer testing. Assures department is in compliance with transportation policies, procedures, and programs. The Logistics Specialist links all the processes involved, from obtaining the raw materials through to delivering the finished goods to the customer.

**Responsibilities of the role**
- Plans delivery by organizing truck loads and routing schedules.
- Oversees Track and Trace process for all Inbound and Outbound shipments.
- Coordinates multiple shipping sites in Canada and the US.
- Communicates effectively with clients and carrier network responding to their requirements.
- Problem solves during periods of high congestion.
- Participates in Network optimization and spend analysis.
- Conducts continuous analyses of vehicle and driver assignments and analyzes scheduling for possible consolidation.
- Analyzes proposed schedules and rates, initiates preparation and distribution of proposed trip schedule changes, and submits analyses of data and rescheduling recommendations
- Participates in Reviews cost statements to locate excessive expenses, and develops plans, policies, and budgets
- Prepares customs documentation to submit to our customs broker.
- Coordinates sample couriers for PD & Sales dept.
- Directs daily activities and gives direction to keep the business moving.

**Education and core competencies requirements**
- 5+ years experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation.
- Fluency in French language is an asset
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred or logistics certification commensurate experience
- Prior experience with transportation management/logistics systems implementation and management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical skills and ability to use data to support decisions.

- May need to go out on the plant floor to review operating process and procedure (steel toe boots required, must follow proper GMPs)
- Some travel may require

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
