Casual Program Worker for Adult Day Program

The ASK Friendship Society runs an Adult Day Program offering specialized programs for older adults with chronic health challenges. ASK’s mission is to enrich the lives of older adults and their caregivers by delivering high-quality, community-based programs and services.
Job Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:
- Lead activity programs
- Evaluate therapeutic groups and implement changes.
- Create and facilitate new therapeutic programs based on clients' needs and abilities
- Responsible for client care including assisting with toileting, transferring and self-care
- Maintain relationships with assigned clients and caregivers
- Update records for assigned clients, including care plan and program plan
Other Related Duties:
- Cover program staff, as needed including Coordinators
- Support lunch service and clean up
- Take initiative to socialize and engage with clients
- Complete other related program duties, as assigned
- Oversee virtual programs
Shifts are Monday
- Friday, weekends and stat holidays off.
**Education**:
- Older Adult Care, Therapeutic Recreation, Activity Aide, Gerontology (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications:
- Class 4 Driver’s License or willing to get a class 4 license (asset)
- First Aid Certificate
- Food Safe Certificate
- Second language (asset)
**Experience**:
- Older adult population and dementia
- Group leadership skills
Other: Clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Must be vaccinated again Covid-19
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $25.75 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Work Location: In person
