Sales Development Representative

**Summary**
A background and expertise in the manufacturing process for one or more of our target markets is critical. You “speak the language” of our manufacturing customers and understand and appreciate their pain points. This role is for a customer-facing, technical expert who can represent Pleora’s AI Solutions product portfolio, is responsible for new customer acquisition, and can identify new opportunities within existing accounts. You are comfortable moving between sales, including developing and closing opportunities, and a technical advisor roles where you work internally and externally to ensure proposed solutions meet market requirements.
Ideally you have a background in AI and machine vision automation, but more critically, you understand manufacturers in our target markets, the issues that keep a quality manager awake at night, and what motivates purchasing decisions. You also bring proven presentation and technical skills to position Pleora’s products as a key solution that helps ensure end-to-end quality, lowers costs, and improves manual processes.
**What you do**
- Prioritize and qualify prospective leads, while ensuring that lead, contact and opportunity records are complete and accurate
- Educate and develop prospects until they are ready to speak with a field sales rep
- Perform research, as required, to obtain key company information during the qualification process and generate additional leads/prospects
- Scheduling initial prospecting meetings for the Sales Team
- Work with Sales and Marketing teams to identify ongoing strategic targets
- Work with Sales teams to support the acquisition of new accounts in the region
- Log the lead lifecycle in Salesforce, including lead source activity, appropriately so that the ROI of lead-gen programs can be accurately reported
**What you need**
- 3-4 year diploma/degree in Business or related field; or combination of education and industry-related experience
- 3-5 years of successful experience in telemarketing, inside sales or sales, preferably in the technology sector
- Technical aptitude/willingness to learn, then effectively communicate the value proposition of Pleora product families
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and an energetic personality
- Ability to develop rapport, influence others and maintain strong working relationships
- Demonstrated success in prospecting customers, and assessing their needs
- Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to deal with rejection/repetitive outreach
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Adept computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Background knowledge in Image Processing/Analysis, AI, Machine Learning, quality inspection and/or embedded systems a strong asset.
