**Employment Opportunity**
- MLTC was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10. The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy. As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First Nations people, giving them priority in decisions on employment matters such as hiring, and this can extend to measures such as opening competitions only to First Nations people._

**Duties**:
- Provide support and facilitate MLFN’s community capacity building to deliver services to youth in the nine communities.
- To facilitate youth development standard of practise at MLTC and the First Nation level.
- To provide support with cultural and traditional capacity development for youth.
- To engage MLFN’s youth resilience while promoting healthy lifestyle choices, education and health and wellness.
- To advocate for youth programming resources and local community support that will keep youth engaged and active.
- To support local youth culture, MLFN’s Recreation Directors and all sport development for at risk youth (including programs, equipment, facilities.).
- Consult, support and work as a team with MLFN Human Resources Teams, MLFN Health Coordinators, Child Protection/Prevention Workers and Supervisors regarding community prevention plans, providing services, training, workshops, co facilitating training plans and activities at the community level.
- Assist MLTC Youth Program with annual First Nation Games (i.e., Summer/Winter Games)
- May be asked to perform duties of a Child Enhancement Worker at times: Case management, provide support and guidance for children and caregivers, transport children in care, refer children and youth to appropriate resources, etc.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum:_
- Grade 12
- Two (2) years of experience working with youth.
- Preferred:_
- Post-Secondary Diploma and/or Degree in Social Work; Youth Care Worker Diploma, or other relevant education and experience.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working with youth.
- Other:_
- Must be addiction free, sober, and intent on living a healthy balanced lifestyle.
- Must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to train & provide instruction to youth.
- Knowledgeable in office reporting procedures with excellent computer skills.
- Will be knowledgeable and sensitive to First Nations’ culture and beliefs, issues and barriers.
- Ability to speak and understand the Cree/Dene language(s) is considered a valuable asset.
- Willing to travel extensively with possible overnight stays.
