The Alberta Medical Association is currently recruiting for a full-time temporary **Data Analyst**, with extensive experience in Power BI, to join our Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT). This role is currently temporary till September 30, 2024, with the possibility of extension.

The AMA Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT) supports physicians and other clinical team members, improve care delivery within their practice environments.

**ACTT Overview**

ACTT is a program within the AMA suite of programs serving the system and physicians in their collective pursuit of better care for Albertans. Grant funding is provided by Alberta Health upon frequent and satisfactory accomplishment of goals. The ACTT program and its previous iterations (e.g., TOP, PMP, PCN PMO) have supported physicians and healthcare delivery for over 20 years.

Position Overview

The Analyst supports ACTT initiatives in PCNs, clinics and zones by providing data analysis as required by portfolio/project leads, PCNs and other stakeholders. The Analyst will build/maintain data sources, develop dashboards and do complex analysis in spreadsheets. The position will be responsible for all aspects of research, data collection, data validation, modeling, blending, reporting and analysis for various projects/initiatives.

**Key responsibilities of this position include**:

- Preparing technical documents or information for presentations by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data, information and trends.
- Preparing notes and explanations to accompany statistical data that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
- Being responsible for research, data collection, data validation, modeling, reporting and analysis for various ACTT initiatives and projects.
- Assist in defining project requirements by analyzing previous projects workload/results and compare to expected work of new projects.
- Plan and coordinate the development of primary and secondary market research studies to support strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
- Make recommendations to project leaders using analytics.

Working in a matrix project environment, the Analyst will be comfortable moving among project teams and multiple reporting lines, while managing multiple deliverables.

Education and Experience
- Minimum requirement is a 2-year post-secondary diploma in business or related field with at least 5 years in a health care environment analyzing data and information to drive decisions.
- An equivalent amount of education and experience would be considered (i.e., degree with 3 years of experience)
- Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting methodologies.
- Proficient in and experience using MS Excel and Power BI is required.
- Technical writing experience required.

**Skills**:

- Excellent communication skills, including an ability to summarize complex information and data to multiple audiences.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and find similarities, differences and themes within the data provided.
- Focus on accuracy, attention to detail, quality service.
- Strong demonstrated ability to work in different software environments - eg
- Microsoft Suite, Visio, MS Project, Function Fox, data modeling software and research systems, various health resource databases, project management.
- Models respect and transparency by being open, acting with integrity, sharing resources / knowledge across project delivery teams.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work within a changing environment.
- Ability to work within a team environment is essential.
