**About the job**:
The IAM Technical Analyst supports the integration of the IAM strategy throughout Interior Health, providing technical and consultative support and training to end-users and departmental staff within Interior Health where appropriate.
**Typical duties and responsibilities**:
- Consults with client departments and Digital Health teams to evaluate Identity & Access Management systems requirements. Develops tests and maintains Identity & Access Management systems from specifications and change requests, identifies problems and recommends alternatives to support requirements being streamlined and achieved.
- Coordinates access to clinical and health information across large-scale, enterprise and integrated systems throughout Interior Health by performing duties such as requirements gathering, configuring access and security templates, and implementing automation processes.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of technical operating documentation, department standards, methods, and procedures. Implements educational training to meet the learning needs of IH staff.
- Supports provincial access requirements by performing duties such as monitoring implementation of new/revised programs, coordinating program access and testing, taking action to correct discrepancies, and preparing detailed access plans and processes.
- Collaborates with Privacy, Security and Network personnel to identify ongoing information access needs, implements system access changes and provides support related to the implementation and support of access control software.
- Acts as a second line support person for incident and problem calls as required; trouble-shoots software and hardware problems; liaises and refers to other Digital Health staff or vendors as appropriate to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintains working knowledge of current tools and techniques used in the information technology environment by methods such as researching on the Internet, technical journals, and industry related materials, identifying the impacts of future change.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Education, Training and Experience**:
Graduation from a recognized diploma program in a technology-related field, plus two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid BC driver license.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
