**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Executive Assistant is to provide a variety of administrative and clerical support services to the political office and Council. The Executive Assistant is responsible for the positive public relations between the team members, leadership, and community. This position involves the development of effective communication methods and responding to requests for information. In addition, the Executive Assistant will interact and ensure collaborative initiatives are met. This position works within all pertinent COTTFN Policies and Guidelines as well, federal, and provincial legislation, regulations, and guidelines.

**Mandatory Requirements**
- Diploma in Office Administration or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years Secretarial/Clerical experience or a minimum of seven (7) years experience in an office environment.
- Administration, Legal Assistant or Business Administration Certificate or equivalent; Diploma preferred.
- Excellent computer skills with experience in the use of word processing and database software
- Experience in crafting and preparing letters, documentation, reports, presentations, and memoranda in a professional, timely manner; as well as experience in managing confidential situations and materials.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Practical experience in primary and secondary research.
- Knowledge of Public Administration and structures of various levels of government
- Solid knowledge and experience working closely with First Nations governance and management systems.
- Ability to interact to wide range of representatives from the private and public sectors.
- Knowledge and solid experience related to First Nation community development.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to promote teamwork.
- Superior and well-developed coordination skills and ability to organize time and work, sound decision making capability,
- Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have a good working knowledge of the community culture, customs, and a thorough understanding of the issues facing the community
- Extended periods of concentration and attention to detail
- Adjusting schedule to meet the changing demands in areas of responsibilities
- Some travel required.
- Flexible work schedule must be available evenings and weekends.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

**Salary**: According to Budget
