**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Domestic Recruitment and Entry Advising, the Recruitment Officer (“Officer”) is responsible for a range of activities that showcase George Brown College’s (“GBC”) 200+ programs to diverse prospects. As a first point of contact for potential students of GBC, the Officer connects and engages with prospective students throughout the prospect to applicant conversion funnel and admission funnel.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supports the college’s overall enrolment targets.
- Responsible for promoting George Brown College to prospective students through various outreach tactics, including high school visits, college fairs, and information sessions.
- Represents the college at province-wide events, including, but not limited to Ontario College Information Program (CIP).
- Organizes schedule(s). Makes travel and accommodation arrangements. Prepares and transports marketing collateral/giveaways/signage. Sets up and tears down displays while using GBC’s resources to best advantage.
- Fosters relationships with high schools across the province.
- Guides students, teachers, principals, guidance counsellors and parent/guardians on post-secondary and career options.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Educational and Experience Requirements**:
- Two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Marketing, Human Resources, or other related field of education or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s license.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in sales/marketing, public relations, advising or recruiting, preferably in a postsecondary education setting.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships and engaging/influencing groups and individuals with varying interests.
- Experience with the delivery and support of medium/large-scale events and experience coordinating volunteers during events.
- Knowledge of the Ontario college system/structure and the Ontario high school system is an asset.
**Skills and Attributes:
- Proven excellent written and oral communication and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated presentation skills and the ability to develop and deliver information relevant to diverse audiences.
- Solid organizational, planning, and time management skills with a high degree of initiative and independence.
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule to accommodate the college’s various events and activities; overnight travel may be required for recruitment events.
- Ability to lift between 20 kg or 44 lbs (i.e., boxes, marketing/display units, etc.).
- Demonstrated collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills at a professional level.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.
