The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Construction Services West team based in Spruce Grove, AB this position provides pipeline construction / maintenance support services including planning and coordinating work activities for the Construction Services crews.
What you’ll do- Work with Construction Managers and Project Management personnel to provide quote/price/proposal packages, cost estimates, schedules, and risk registers and other specific deliverables for key decisions and milestones related to construction requirements for projects and pipeline integrity work-
- Coordinate project activities to support the Construction Managers in all aspects of planning and executing projects in the geographic area-
- Develop project short and long-range schedules and work plan-
- Support Management of Change documentation and communication as required-
- Coordinate with Regional Field Work Planners to arrange regional support for construction activities including outages-
- Provide logistics support for materials and services with external vendors as required-
- Assist with cost performance tracking, analysis and forecasting-
- Compile, manage, and report on all approved projects, resource availability, timing assumptions and allowances-
- Prepare Construction Execution Plans, and lead/participate in constructability reviews-
- Create project forecast as a tool to communicate resource requirements based on work identified to Project teams-
- Review projected work hour requirements and work with Construction Managers to assure proper hours are associated with each project-
- Monitor execution of construction activities and hold regular meetings to identify possible changes to scope and schedule that may impact future projects-
- Monitor timely project work completion and communicate updates with the project teams-
- Perform data collection, trend analysis and reporting on program plan effectiveness-
- Build and maintain project execution dashboard and track team performance metrics-
- Work with project teams and stakeholders to bundle, prioritize and schedule work-
- Confirm project schedules with construction teams and project managers.Minimum Qualifications- Post-Secondary education (2- or 3-year technical program or related field)-
- 8 years of related experience with pipeline and facilities construction, operations, or related work planning and coordinating activities involving internal and external parties-
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite of tools including: MS Projects, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint-
- Proven experience collaborating with cross functional teams-
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, communication and time management skills-
- Knowledge of project management fundamentals, pipeline construction, coating, hydrostatic testing, welding and quality control/assurance experience.-
- Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing-
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review-
- Periodic field location travel- Relocation Eligibility: This position is eligible for our domestic relocation program.
