**Pop-Up Food Market Coordinator**

**Overview**

Feed Niagara is seeking an energetic, cooperative, and self-motivated go-getter to coordinate the creation and implementation of Pop-Up Food Markets throughout the region for Feed Niagara - a consortium of 10 Niagara Food Bank agencies.

**About Feed Niagara**

Feed Niagara represents a consortium of Food Security agencies covering the Niagara region. All 10
Feed Niagara agencies belong to both Feed Ontario and Food Banks Canada, aligning standards of excellence and best practices throughout these agencies. With over 500 collective years experience providing Food Security programs in our communities, the members of Feed Niagara have a long history of serving communities across the Niagara region.

**General Summary**

Reporting to the Feed Niagara Manager, the Pop-Up Food Market Coordinator will evaluate community need and determine locations for temporary food stations in each area providing dietary essentials to clients registered with a Food Security agency.

The Pop-Up Food Market Coordinator will liaise with the 10 Feed Niagara agencies to facilitate Food
Security services throughout the region, ensuring that programs are accessible to populations facing transportation, mobility, or other barriers to accessing existing supports.

**Pop Up Food Market Coordinator Key Responsibilities**

**Program Development**
- Consult Feed Niagara Manager and member agencies in establishing the Pop-Up Market

Program (ie: locations, schedule, equipment, food distribution, volunteer recruitment).
- Develop and deploy an initial survey to establish baseline needs and services to be accessed at

Pop-Up Food Markets.
- Identify other potential supports that currently don’t exist or are not available in that community, but would be beneficial for the population served.
- Create measures and indicators of progress and achievement of objectives, and regularly monitor and report on these.
- In consultation with Feed Niagara Manager, develop a Memorandum of Understanding outlining roles and responsibilities for Feed Niagara agencies for the Pop-Up Markets.
- Explore existing and new partnerships with farms to support the work of this project by supplying fresh produce.
- Secure cold storage in pre-determined locations as well as transportation details.
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative team focused on providing exceptional service to

Feed Niagara clients, upholding the values of respect, fairness, and equality.

**Community Relations and Volunteer Management**
- Collaborate with Feed Niagara Manager to incorporate Pop-Up Market messaging in Feed

Niagara’s marketing and communications strategies.
- Develop connections and positive relationships with member agency staff, volunteers, and community groups to ensure positive experiences for all participants.
- Ensure volunteers are trained, well equipped, supported and recognized for their contributions.

**Records/Reporting**
- Assist in the monitoring and control of the operating budget.
- Contribute to the preparation of grant reports and proposals.
- Maintain accurate records, program participation data etc. in hard copy and electronically.
- Collect and analyze data every other month to monitor changing needs and impact of the Pop-Up Food Market initiative.

**Qualifications**
- 2+ years of relevant experience in progressive leadership positions.
- Familiar with the dynamics of food security systems.
- A team player with experience leading, coaching, and supporting staff and volunteer teams.
- Excellent relationship building, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strategic and innovative thinker who can develop and implement new strategies and initiatives.
- Ability to speak passionately to a variety of audiences, ranging from one person to a room full of people about the monumental impact of Feed Niagara.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with agency leaders and staff, volunteers, existing stakeholders, and foster relationships with new or potential supporters.
- Able to effectively oversee budgets, manage expenses and achieve strategic targets.
- Understanding and experience of best practices in operating and meeting the statutory and regulatory obligations of a non-profit organization.
- Proven financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Knowledge of the Niagara region is an asset.
- A valid Ontario Driver’s license and consistent access to a reliable vehicle is required.
