Asphalt Spreader Operator

Minimum 5 years experience as an asphalt spreader operator
- Asphalt finishing
- Knowledge of paving fundamentals (tonnage, speed, compaction, etc.)
- Knowledge of paving equipment and terminology (i.e: augur heights, tow point position, screed, crown, feeder sensors, etc.)
- Attention to detail and can communicate information to team Duties:

- Operate asphalt spreader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Adjust equipment as required (align paver, attach extensions, regulate heat, lower augers, hopper control, etc.).
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Excellent knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment and techniques required to complete required tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Demonstrates ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Great Health & Safety awareness (COR)
- Familiarity with completing site specific reports (Field level hazard assessments, inspections, safety talks) (COR)
- High attention to detail in technical specifications and written communication.
- Highly structured in organization and time management, demonstrating initiative.
- Performance driven.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written in English).
- Desire to interact with clients and team in professional, patient and courteous manner.
- Highly alert, and demonstrates problem solving skills.
- Technically skilled. Desire to embrace and use technology.
- Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting.
- Performs and demands excellence in quality of work.
- Service and teamwork focused.
- Driven to improve efficiencies, with ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Innovative and focused on learning and self-improvement
- Must possess a valid G driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.

Pay: $18.00-$40.00 per hour
