**Traffic Control Lead Hand**

We are currently looking for **Traffic Control Lead Hand** to join our growing team

Reporting directly to the Manager of Diversified Operations, the Traffic Control Lead Hand will be responsible for safely controlling the flow of traffic around various Forest Contractors work sites.

**_Additional responsibilities include:_**
- Designing and writing traffic control plans that are in compliance with Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7: Temporary Conditions and ensuring that the plan is communicated to and signed off on by Site Supervisors.
- Safely operating a commercial vehicle with a trailer and completing vehicle inspections and drivers logs as required by the Ministry of Transportation.
- Delivering traffic control devices to site and loading and unloading devices as necessary (barrels, signs, barricades etc.).
- Safely setting up and taking down traffic control enclosures.
- Directing the flow of traffic around active construction zones using a variety of tools including signs and 2-way radios.
- Communicating with Site Supervisors and other TCPs to ensure traffic is flowing efficiently and with mínimal disruption.
- Interacting with pedestrians and motorists, as needed.
- Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions observed while controlling traffic.
- Working at multiple locations and under a variety of weather conditions.
- Working night shifts, as required.
- Other duties, as required.
- A valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to multiple sites.
- Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7: Temporary Conditions certification is strongly preferred
- Experience in the construction industry as a TCP is considered an asset.
- Experience in driving commercial vehicles and trailers is considered an asset.
- A safety conscious demeanor and willingness to adhere to company safety policies, practices and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as a part of a team
