**Position Description: purchasing and inventory controller**

Since its origin in 1981, JASCO has developed and implemented acoustic technologies for underwater acoustics, ranging from advanced _acoustic recording systems design_ to complex _acoustic modelling_ algorithms. We perform acoustic consulting, _field monitoring_ and _data analysis_ services. Our work encompasses all stages of environmental reviews and assessments of underwater noise. We work with regulatory, oil and gas, marine construction, energy, fisheries, transport, and defence sectors. JASCO has offices in Victoria, BC, Halifax, NS, the United States, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

JASCO is currently looking for a **Purchasing and Inventory Controller **in our Dartmouth, NS (Woodside), location.

**Position Overview**

The Purchasing and Inventory Controller is required to perform the following tasks under direction and supervision of the Production Manager with input from stakeholders (Accounting Manager, Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Support Manager):
**Responsibilities**
- Acts as a purchasing agent for JASCO’s Halifax Office and assists other offices as necessary
- Maintains equipment, material, piece-part inventory and associated records in SysPro, Sharepoint and MS Office tools. Works closely with the Production Manager in this task
- Coordinates distributed inventory control, procedures and administration across international offices
- Assists JASCO Accounting department in equipment, material, piece-part pricing
- Receives equipment, material, piece-parts into inventory
- Works with QA/QC personnel to ensure purchasing & receiving are conducted in accordance with JASCO’s Quality Assurance procedures
- Performs inventory audits (including remotely located offices)
- Provides inventory procedural/tool training to JASCO personnel
- Assists with the following when required during heavy load or as backup
- Assist with product support requests
- Assist with generation of quotes
- Prepare equipment for shipping
- Receive incoming shipments and store in appropriate areas
- Assist in keeping warehouse clean and organized at all times

**Required Qualifications and Experience**
- Inventory management and accounting experience
- Logistics and procurement experience
- Technical background - experience in an engineering or production environment
- Technical purchasing experience
- Experience/skills in Syspro, SharePoint and MS Office tools
- Experience in Ocean Technology/Ocean Engineering/Marine sector
- Experience in electronics/electronics manufacturing
- QA/QC or HSE experience and qualifications
- Terrific team player: excellent communication skills, positive attitude
- Excellent work ethic, self disciplined and self managing
- **Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Canadian Resident, or have a Valid Canadian Work Permit**:

- **Must be able to acquire a government security clearance**

**Education**
- Certificate in Supply Chain Logistics and Inventory Management or equivalent work experience
