**GHY International** has an exciting opportunity for the role of Trade Consultant working out of our Head Office in Winnipeg, MB.

Reporting directly to the Manager, Canadian Trade Services, the Trade Consultant must have extensive industry experience to assist our clients to navigate trade compliance regulations. Communicating with clients on a regular basis and with internal and external stakeholders, they will accurately rate goods using the tariff classification codes and effectively facilitate the customs brokerage process and cross-border transportation. As a senior member of the team, the Trade Consultant will act as a mentor and coach, helping other GHY associates to learn and grow in their role.

**THE ROLE**

**Responsibilities**:

- Proactively gather and review information to identify high-level client risks and opportunities
- Assist with complex tariff classification, assist with compliance verifications (CBP & CBSA), maintenance and follow-up
- Participate in post-entry review, correction initiation and client training
- Provide consulting, verification and next step advice to client focusing on explanation of national and advance customs rulings, coordination of US and CAD duty drawback
- Initiation of corrections via B2 and blanket adjustments
- Provide consulting guidance to clients on FTA, Tariff, CBSA initiatives and programs
- Prepare National and Advance Customs Rulings
- Run reports and determine refund possibilities where rulings and/or FTA are obtained
- Coordination of duty drawbacks by running reports, submitting to CBSA and monitoring
- Internal and external report generation at the client’s request
- Client onboarding, database builds/loads/edits
- Assist with large proposals, MARPS and implementations
- Operational support
- Matching of Detailed Adjustment Statements (DAS)
- Compiling customs packages
- Entering notes in files
- Changes status of files
- Review of adjustments produced by adjustment clerks
- Other duties as required

- Keyboarding - 50+ WPM
- Understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ITMR4 would be an asset

**Education**:

- Completion of Grade 12 Education.
- Completion of a post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- Completion of US CCS Designation is considered an asset.
- Completion of CTCS Designation is considered an asset.

**Experience**:

- 8+ years of related industry experience

The Details:
HOURS OF WORK: Full Time, Monday-Friday - 8:00 - 4:00 pm.
LOCATION: Based out of a physical office with the opportunity for some remote work as an option.
START DATE: ASAP
