Survey Party Chief

Monteith & Sutherland have been providing wide range of engineering geomatics services throughout Ontario for over 50 years. We are reputable and well recognised experts in high precision engineering surveys, including deformation monitoring, tunnel surveying and in establishment of any-scale geodetic horizontal and vertical control networks.

**The main duties will be the following**:

- Construction layouts and as-builts;
- Topographic surveys;
- Deformation Monitoring surveys;
- Control network surveys, including traversing and levelling;
- High-definition Laser Scanning;
- Preparing for field work by checking and understanding drawings, preparing a job file with existing data, and checking data at the end of the data for accuracy and completeness.

**Qualities of Applicant**
- Attention to detail including comprehensive field notes
- Ability to create sketches of field work
- Understanding of client requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and work irregular hours (occasionally weekends or nights)
- Experience operating Total Stations is required
- Construction or Tunnel survey experience is an asset
- Enthusiastic team worker
- Driver’s license

**Required education**:

- Post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience.
- Minimum 5 years surveying experience.

**Salary based on experience and qualifications**

**Salary**: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

- surveying: 5 years (preferred)
