**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead, coordinate and facilitate a diverse training curriculum that supports the learning needs of municipal staff and external organizations intended to promote community safety in the Halifax region, such as but not limited to: in-person and hybrid training sessions, online webinars, knowledge exchanges, and communities of practice.
- Mentor train the trainer programs and make recommendations regarding types of training programs on offer.
- Facilitate community safety and violence prevention “train the trainer” programs
- Ensure that the Public Safety Office’s education and learning services are delivered using inclusion and equity lenses (i.e. Gender Based Analysis Plus, Afrocentric practices, and trauma-informed principles) and that they adhere to adult learning principles.
- Function as Project Manager for Community Safety Education projects - prioritize projects, develop resources, and time estimates, track deliverables and provide regular status reports.
- Evaluate effectiveness of learning programs in achieving desired outcomes. Make recommendations and amend learning programs accordingly to close performance gaps and meet changing learning needs of the organization and community;
- Act as Project Lead for outsourced content development or instructional design in conjunction with the Public Safety Office while managing relationships with external vendors/partners providing eLearning solutions;
- Support the design and implementation of tools to evaluate the effectiveness of education and learning services offered through the Public Safety Office.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to schedule education and learning services such as courses, workshops and lunch and learns.

May perform other related duties as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Training/Adult Education, Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Humanities, Gender or Equity studies or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience working and/or volunteering in the field of adult learning, public education and/or training to build capacity for community safety and well-being as demonstrated by professional, volunteer, or community-based leadership experience.
- Certification and experience facilitating training programs such as but not limited to harm reduction, bystander awareness training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, human trafficking prevention training, Mental Health First Aid etc.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the underlying factors that contribute to crime and victimization among marginalized groups as demonstrated by professional, volunteer, or community-based leadership experience.
- Knowledge of culturally appropriate ways of working with equity deserving communities including urban Indigenous peoples, local African Nova Scotians, and African descent communities.

**Technical/Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate and facilitate training programs and learning activities that meet the diverse learning needs of various communities through offerings such as but not limited to in-person and hybrid training sessions, online webinars, knowledge exchanges and communities of practice.
- Solid knowledge of adult learning practices as demonstrated by 5 years of professional or volunteer experience.
- Knowledge of culturally proficient ways of working with equity-deserving communities including urban Indigenous peoples, local African Nova Scotians, African descent communities, racialized peoples, members of the 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and persons with disabilities.

Evening and/or weekend work will be required from time to time to complete tasks, meet deadlines or support evening and weekend meetings or events.**SALARY**: Level 7, Non-Union, $75,750 to $104,130.**WORK LOCATION**: Duke Tower, 7th Floor, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
