General Manager

Reporting to the CEO and CFO, the General Manager is a key position in the Company’s operations, providing hands-on inspirational leadership to the production team while ensuring the company meets its goals.
With a can-do, problem-solving attitude the General Manager handles all the day-to-day operations and operating administration tasks of the company while providing leadership to production staff and ensuring production runs smoothly.
The General Manager is highly self-motivated, holds him/her self to a high level of professionalism, is compassionate with his/her staff, is organized and can multi task well, and can handle the daily pressures of a manufacturing environment. The General Manager is the leader of his/her team and finds simple and efficient solutions to all problems and challenges they are faced with. This is a key role in promoting the desired company culture and vision.
The General Manager will understand overall organizational goals and efficiency/labour targets and will take the time to understand KPIs of the different processes to hold their team accountable to output efficiencies. By rolling up your sleeves at times and working alongside your staff, the General Manager will demonstrate how they want a job done well.
This is a key leadership position that encompasses overall site management as well, including managing the facility maintenance schedule, monitoring the functionality of the HVAC systems, environmental monitoring systems, and equipment.

The company works in a highly regulated industry which means the General Manager must have a working knowledge of Health Canada's cannabis framework, accompanying act and regulations.
Health Canada Security Clearance is a requirement for this position.
**Job description**:
The role and responsibilities for the General Managers role are outlined below and fall into six key areas and are not limited to the following tasks.
**1. Departmental and Company Development**
- Collaborate with the CEO & CFO on a regular basis with regards to day-to-day tasks and meeting the short term and medium-term goals of the company.
**2. Management and Leadership**
- Must have a positive attitude and be able to work well with others.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Leading the production team by example - demonstration of work ethic. professionalism, and efficient order/task execution.
- Hiring and managing production staff in collaboration with HR.
- Ability to act with discretion and good judgment, with sensitivity to confidential matters.
- Ability to supervise multiple processing operations at a time and a minimum of 20 people per shift.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
**3. Production Management and Quality**
- Liaison and work alongside the production planner and sales teams to align, plan and expedite the production schedule accordingly to ensure customer expectations and delivery deadlines are met.
- Understanding of ‘chain of custody’ with the ability to execute and manage operational controls and the inventory movement of controlled substances.
- Manage hands on day-to-day production activities.
- Willingness to 'do whatever it takes' to get the job done, including being a part of the processing line when needed.
