**Job Description**:

As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Material Planner in Waterloo.

As the Material Planner, you will provide strategic materials and production planning that will ensure maximum utilization of inventory while achieving on time delivery within targets

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determine requirements for given commodity and administer the request for purchase authorization and the purchase order.- Analyze inventory buffer requirements on a regular basis ensuring buffers sizes stay in line with current business levels using SAP. Investigate and make recommendations to changes in inventory levels based on product knowledge and business input from sales.- Expedite, if required, specific purchase orders to ensure on time delivery of parts and maintain the system with current expedited delivery dates- Interface with Operations team concerning order deliveries- Self-motivated, versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities- Review all Production orders to ensure Products are being manufactured to the most current revisions as indicated on the BOM- Assist in the preparation of department reports required on a daily, weekly or monthly basis- Provide back up for the other planning functions as required- Reschedule orders due to material shortages or technical issues. Clearly communicate priorities to the appropriate groups

Position Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Materials Management or PMAC principles, or equivalent experience- 6 years related experience- Strong and consistent attention to detail- Excellent communications, teamwork skills- Must have high degree of computer literacy Word, Excel, SAP or other MRP systems
