Join us We are seeking an experienced **Account Technician** to work with clients in our Collingwood office, located at 10126 Highway 26 East, Unit #2. The Account Technician's responsibilities include light bookkeeping, preparation of year end working papers and personal tax returns. Dedicated team players with strong work ethics will have the potential for increased responsibilities and personal growth.

**Responsibilities for this position include**:

- Providing some bookkeeping assistance to clients, internally and externally, in various formats including Quickbooks, QBO, and Sage, while maintaining the integrity of historical records
- Preparation of various special returns for review
- Completion of personal tax returns
- Preparation of communication for clients, Canada Revenue Agency and others.
- Compiling information provided from clients for review by team in a clear and concise manner.
- Input information to Caseware to help prepare the year-end accounting for our clients
- Provide daily check-ins with your leader, includes updating file completion status.
- Office duties, including answering telephone, greeting clients in a friendly manner, communicating with team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Completion of a college/university education in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a public accounting firm is preferred
- Previous bookkeeping experience is required
- Experience with and/or knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage Accounting, and Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency with the use of accounting and tax software an asset (Adobe, Profile, Tax Prep, TaxCycle and Caseware)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Demonstrated team building skills
- You have a strong work ethic, and you thrive on challenges
- Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation to work independently in a high-volume work environment
- Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
- You must be tech savvy with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they come up
- Proficiency with MS Office (including Microsoft Teams), Adobe Acrobat and online meeting technology (eg: zoom, go-to meetings).
- Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role

Remuneration is based on education and experience.
