As a Team Lead, you will provide leadership for a team of Support Workers and provide key supports to residents as part of the service team at Our Place and Meadows Place. The homes are set up to support the people we serve who due to histories of trauma and related mental illness and addictions, need enhanced levels of housing support.
- What you bring to the team:
**Required**
- Degree or diploma in Human Services, Education and/or Administration.
- Police Check with Vulnerable Sector.
- First Aid and CPR.
- Medication Administration.
- Suicide Intervention.
- Food Safety.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Proof of vehicle insurance, registration and 3 year drivers abstract.

- De-escalation Certificate.
- Harm Reduction Training.
- Cultural Awareness.

**Experience**
- 3+ years’ experience of direct service experience with marginalized populations.
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory / leadership capacity in a residential service provider setting.
- Strong crisis intervention/de-escalation training/skills including: keeping calm in crisis situations, ability to work in high pressure and stress situations on a regular basis.
- Working knowledge and experience with harm reduction, person-centered, trauma-informed, strength based, collaborative, and/or solution focused practice.
- Proven ability to foster a team environment and provide reflective supervision to team members.
- Understanding of mental health/mental illness and how it affects the residents and individuals we serve.
- Extensive background and experience working with adults requiring higher levels of support due to complex trauma, addictions, mental illness, and/or poverty.
- Experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management).
- Important work you will do at e4c:
**Resident Care**
- Use relationship-based approaches to teach and model a spectrum of basic life skills in the home and with residents.
- Lead and support staff to develop and perform skills including not limited to cooking, meal planning, grocery shopping, public transportation education, time management, problem solving, healthy relationships, conflict resolution, and medication management and cleaning with residents.
- Communicate with community mental health supports to ensure that residents are adequately supported, able to maintain their housing, and that the work with residents aligns with their care plans.
- Receive information and communicate with housing program team regarding progress of the residents, significant changes in behavior, and any concerns/challenges that the resident is experiencing.
- Monitors medication for program residents.

**Meal Preparation and Planning**
- Collaborate with residents and Support Workers to plan menus in accordance with preferences and in alignment with Supportive Living Accommodation and Licensing Standards.
- Maintain adequate food inventory and kitchen supplies with adherence to the kitchen budget.

**Leadership**
- Coordinate daily delivery of safe housing and programming through training, consultation and supervision of house support staff.
- Recruit personnel in conjunction with e4c Human Resources Department and Site Manager.
- Engages in and promotes positive relationship building with staff, neighbors and community members.

**Administration**
- Supports Site Manager with payroll and financial management of invoices, debit reconciliation, handling cash, rent collection and overall management of house finances.
- Completes and submit payroll to Site Manager for direct reports.
- Complies and adheres to legislation, bylaws, standards (health, fire, safety, city and accreditation by reporting any potential safety hazards, performing emergency procedures and responding to security and emergent issues.
- Maintain accreditation, licensing, and accommodation standards by monitoring all house documentation and communications.
