Position: Greenhouse Worker (Canada Summer Jobs position)

Reporting Protocol: Reports to Greenhouse Manager

This is a temporary position, 35 hours a week for 8 weeks, that will be performed onsite at Arch Greenhouses. Arch Greenhouses is a social enterprise of Arch Enterprises, a non-profit organization providing innovative day program services to adults with developmental disabilities. In this role the Greenhouse Worker will be responsible for seeding, planting and watering plants as needed. The Greenhouse Worker will also be required to assist with customer questions regarding plants and other greenhouse products.

**SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Seeding, transplanting and watering
- Filling pots with soil
- Cleaning up and maintaining workspaces
- Customer Service and operating a cash register

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Pursuing or completed a post-secondary diploma or degree in Horticulture
- Able to work independently and in team settings

SAFTEY CONSIDERATIONS:

- Repetitive motion issues; including, but not limited to, bending, reaching, and squatting.
- Standing on hard surfaces.
- Walking on uneven surfaces.
- Extreme temperature variations of both hot and cold.
- Hydration in extreme heat.
- Heavy lifting (approximately 30-60lbs).
- Wet floors and slippery surfaces.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: $15.00 per hour
