1.0 CONT Applications are invited from professionally qualified individuals for the following teaching Positions of Special Responsibility (POSR). Positions will be filled by competition (Article E11.3b). Placements into these POSR positions during the school year may be consider in accordance with Article E.11.3d.

Advanced Soccer Academy Coordinator (Located at Edward Milne Community School). See below for Position Description.

Position Description

This position reports to the District Principal, Academy Programs.

**Position Responsibilities**:
? Plans the scheduling of events and services to meet District Academy program goals

? Coordinates and facilitates the promotion and on-field instruction of the District’s Advanced Soccer

Academy in the Milnes Landing area

? Maintains necessary records/files on District Academy programs

? Coordinates and facilitates professional coaches that provide instruction under the guidance of the Edward

Milne Soccer Academy teacher

? Provides direct liaison to develop District Academy Program linkages and referrals to academy programs

? Responds to and resolves issues of District Academy participants

? Organizes and attends workshops that are specific to District Academy programs

? Liaises with partners including Canadian Sport Centre - Victoria, PISE and National and Provincial Sport

Organizations

? Collaborates and works effectively with administrators, counsellors, coaches, teachers and parents

? Liaises, facilitates and maintains the necessary communication and related paperwork and files for

Distributive Learning courses specific to District Academy programs. Courses may include:

- Individual Sport Performance 10/11/12
- Cross Training 10/11/12
- Athlete Training 10/11/12

**Preferred Qualifications**:
? Degree with a Major or Minor in Physical and Health Education

? Expertise and experience running a Soccer Academy program

? Successful experience teaching secondary school settings

? Experience with the BC Ministry of Education’s On-Line Learning and Graduation Program (External Credits,

Independent Directed Studies) policies, procedures, guidelines, and requirement

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
