**Administrative Assistant**

We are a busy Family Medicine office looking for an administrative assistant who

is energetic, motivated and a team player, working as an administrative assistant.

**Experience/Education **
Previous experience in a medical office (preferred) but not essential

Entry-level medical terminology knowledge (preferred)

Medical /Secretary Diploma/Certificate (preferred)

**Skills**:
Excellent communication skills and ability to speak to patients in a

professional/courteous manner

Ability to work with mínimal supervision and able to prioritize and handle

multiple tasks and requests

Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office

Advanced typing skills

Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is an asset

Knowledge and understanding of electronic/computer privacy and security

issues

**Responsibilities**:
Office administration (Answering phone calls and messages, booking

appointments, sending, and receiving fax reports, greeting patients,

scheduling, etc.)

Prepare billings, invoices, receiving and processing payments for OHIP,

WSIB, private and other third parties as required and according to

established policies and procedures.

Managing documents for office electronic medical record

Checking patients in and out

Keeping the office, waiting room, and examination rooms clean.

This position is approx.—30-35 hrs. per week.
