The Parking Attendant is responsible for working designated parking areas or booths at a pay-for-parking entrance/exit. This position will also: direct vehicles to appropriate parking areas; collect parking fees; monitor parking lots to check for required permits; ensure vehicles are parked in designated spaces; provide information to visitors and staff; ensure vehicles are not blocking traffic flow; and act as the first point of contact for customers and guests.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- First point of contact with customers in for the company which sets the standard for customer service at the facility; the first impression is very important.
- Attends designated parking area or a booth at a pay-for-parking entrance/exit during established lot hours.
- Directs drivers of vehicles to appropriate parking areas.
- Monitors and/or patrols lots to check for required permits and to ensure cars are parked in designated spaces and not blocking traffic flow.
- Performs other duties on an as and when required basis.
- Provide prompt reporting of potential and existing problem areas to enhance REAL’s Customer Care and provide a positive experience.
- Be highly visible and act as “eyes and ears” of REAL.
- Other duties as required

**For this casual position, you MUST be able to commit to the following**:

- **QCX: July 31 - August 4.**

**Requirements**:
**WHAT IT TAKES**

**Education and Experience**
- Grade 12 education or GED is preferred.
- Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
- Ability to work conscientiously and with mínimal direction.
- Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours.
- May work odd or long hours at a time to complete operational requirements, projects or to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
- Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
