Health and Safety Officer

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as emergency response, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. Your role will involve implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and providing training to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Work with Sub trades to ensure we have all there required information on site.
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills
- Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities
- Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices
- Fabricate safety signs or equipment as needed
- Document control
- Kingston uses Sitedocs for its safety documentation. Successful proponent is expected to learn and utilize this software.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 first aid
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Training development experience is a plus
- Should be able to manage incidents and develop detailed incident reports
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 20 months
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
