We are a non-profit charity, providing hospice and community services to the people of New Tecumseth and surrounding areas supporting living life fully and dying with dignity. We walk together with families and community members through the journey of illness and grief offering a variety of day programs, counselling, and palliative care. We believe everyone should have access to the right palliative and bereavement care when and where they need it. We are excited to be developing plans to expand our services to the community in the near future.

**SCOPE**:
**Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager of Donor Relations oversees relations with Donors and fundraising activities at Matthews House Hospice and Matthews House Hospice Foundation, including capital campaigns, operational funding campaigns, fundraising events, and activities. The Manager of Donor Relations is also responsible for the management of staff members for whom he/she is responsible. It is imperative that the manager be able to work effectively with donors,**

**staff, volunteers, supporters and others. Knowledge and experience in planning and managing events is an asset as are excellent communication and marketing skills including experience giving presentations to groups.**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Creates and manages a Donor Stewardship Plan in alignment with Matthews House Hospice & Matthews House Foundation’s Vision, Mission and Values.

2. Implements and leads broad-based donor stewardship and donor recognition programs that target a variety of giving levels and large special constituency groups.

3. Supervision of Board and Donor Stewardship Volunteer Programs including support of Capital Campaign Committees and Fundraising Board Committees.

4. Visioning and development of fundraising for sustainable operations’ projects with a focus on Campaign Branding, Public Awareness and development of key donors for projects.

5. Oversees the creation and implementation of key annual fundraising events, such as Gala, Golf, Hike and Direct mail Campaign as well as third party fundraising events and others.

6. Represents Matthews House Hospice and Matthews House Hospice Foundation in the community by attending and/or giving presentations at events, talking to donors one-on-one, touring donors through the hospice, writing communiques or other such activities as are required.

7. Teaches and mentors staff and volunteers how they can play a significant role in helping to raise donations from family members or visitors who visit the hospice.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Fundraising and Donor Stewardship**:

- Manages the overall strategy and stewardship of Matthews House Hospice and Matthews House Hospice Foundation giving societies and ensures members are appropriately stewarded through recognition events, targeted communications and select strategic engagement.
- Proactively supports the stewardship responsibilities by assisting in establishing and coordinating individualized engagement plans for major/principal gift level donors in their portfolios.
- Collaborates with partners to identify and craft stewardship deliverables and engagement opportunities to showcase the impact of their philanthropy.
- Designs and executes several initiatives and programs in an effort to communicate appreciation and impact to annual giving donors, ultimately increasing donor retention.
- Collaborates with other departments to recognize significant individual, corporate and foundations’ investments at Matthews House Hospice and Matthews House Hospice Foundation.
- Provides leadership, professional expertise and direction in the planning and execution of high quality in-person and virtual events and functions.
- Ensures priorities of Matthews House Hospice and Matthews House Hospice Foundation are reflected in the planning and presentation of events and communications with appropriate constituents such as donors, prospects, the community, legislative and business partners, volunteers, contractors, etc.
- Conducts and develops monthly and annual donor account reviews in order to effectively manage account lifecycles and report on fundraising goals monthly.
- Analyzes, assesses, and reports donor results to ensure donor/sponsor expectations are being met.
- Meets and exceeds donor relationship targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

**Support for Sustainable Operations Projects**:

- In consultation with the CEO, works with stakeholders to develop sustainable operations’ projects with emphasis on promotion of awareness of new programs and opportunities with key donors and sponsors.
