Temporary Instructor, Autobody Technician Program

As NAIT continues to grow its student body and lead the way in hands-on learning, we are recruiting skilled and passionate individuals to help support current and future industry professionals and become part of Canada’s leading polytechnic.

NAIT’s Auto Body technician program is split in to four segments - Prepper, Refinisher, Repaired and Technician. The program will prepare students to repair and replace damaged motor vehicle structures and body parts, and interior and exterior finishes.
- have strong technical knowledge in Auto Body
- be able to work both independently and within a team environment
- bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

- Knowledge of computers

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma
- Completion of Auto Body Technician Alberta Journeyman certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
- Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyman certificate or provincial equivalent.
- Teaching experience an asset

**Remuneration**:Salary will commensurate with education & experience. Hourly wage, plus 18.5% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays. (Classification - Instructor).
