**Summary**:
Under the supervision of the Manager of the Settlement Unit, the Settlement Youth Outreach Worker provides direct client services and program delivery support for immigrants, refugees, and newcomers. Utilizing an integrated services approach, the Youth Outreach Worker conducts detailed needs assessments, provides referrals, information, and orientation, facilitates community connections, and assists with resource development and delivery. This role also involves offering basic employment-related information and providing labor market information to various newcomer youth.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct client assessments, identify client needs, and assist newcomers in accessing settlement services
- Offer information sessions/workshops and refer clients to other programs
- Promote constructive and culturally sensitive connections between newcomer youth and various cultural communities
- Expand the youth base through outreach activities, including community visits, developing outreach materials, and fostering community networks
- Provide professional services to youth and organize leadership development, information, and orientation workshops
- Refer volunteer clients to other agency programs, external professionals, and community resources
- Assist youth in expressing their concerns and needs to service providers and community agencies
- Help newcomer youth access community resources, activities, and programs when they face barriers
- Maintain the client database (OCMS) and produce required statistics and reports for iCARE system
- Participate in team, staff, and committee meetings as necessary
- Assess the effectiveness of service delivery and propose solutions for continuous improvement
- Represent the agency in community networks focused on immigration and refugee issues and collaborate with other agencies and community groups to facilitate settlement services delivery
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the program manager in line with the position and agency mandate

Qualifications and Skills
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in social work and/or credentials as a Social Worker, Community (Support) Worker, settlement services and /or human services.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in social service delivery, preferably in settlement services
- Fluency in English and Arabic is essential (verbal and written)
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and experience in individual and group orientation
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting newcomers
- Team player with initiative, energy and persistence
- Experience delivering in-person and online training is required
- Sensitivity to, and understanding of, issues and barriers to employment faced by women, newcomers, immigrants, youth and other disadvantaged groups
- Excellent teamwork and positive attitude towards change
- Strong problem-solving skills and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, internet use and ability to deliver PowerPoint presentations
- Criminal reference check for vulnerable sector is required
- Position requires travel; car is an asset
