**Part Time Program Instructor - Dance (Seasonal Programs)**:
The Program Instructor is accountable for planning and implementation a safe and enjoyable beginner to intermediate program, teaching the fundamentals of Bollywood and/or hip-hop dance.

**Key Duties**:

- Develops and implements an 8-12-week enjoyable dance program in accordance with the scope of the program plan.
- Leads groups of program participants and ensures the safety and well-being of your assigned class.
- Provides an individualized approach that assists with the mastery of skills and development within the program.
- Works cooperatively and maintains ongoing and effective communication with participants, and the Community Recreation Coordinator.
- Ensures that the necessary equipment and supplies are available, and that such equipment and supplies are maintained in a safe condition.
- Takes appropriate action to deal with incidents, problems and emergencies, as outlined in the departmental policies and procedures.
- Creates an environment that fosters a positive and inclusive program experience.
- Creates an environment where participants strive to participate fully, perform the best of their ability, and learn new skills.
- Performs administrative tasks necessary to support the program.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Must be a minimum of 16 years or older.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching/coaching the specific style of dance specified for the program and/or leadership skills and a combination of training, education, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of advanced skills/experience relevant to the activity being taught, acquired through multiple years of participation and lessons in relevant sport.
- Knowledge and experience related to the delivery of recreation programs and services.
- Experience working with children, youth, and/or adults in a recreational setting.
- Current Standard First Aid certification with CPR C.
- High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development
- Able to provide a current Criminal Reference / Vulnerable Sector check (completed in the last six months) that is satisfactory to the Town.
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.

**What is Offered to Staff**:

- Rate of Pay: $22.97 - $24.97 per hour.
- Hours of Work: This is a non-union position that works up to 24 hours per week. The hours of work are Sunday to Saturday, various shifts between 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
- Town Perks: The Town offers part-time staff access to an Employee & Family Service Program, Health & Wellness Program, Town of Ajax Fitness Centre combo membership and a defined pension plan (OMERS pension).
