The FSQA Coordinator is critical to maintaining the facility’s HACCP, food safety regulations and ensuring a multitude of GFSI requirements are met through the overall food safety management system.
**Responsibilities**:
- Proactively auditing existing procedures against CFIA/FDA, BRC or customer standards to ensure compliance to specific standards.
- Oversees the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the company’s HACCP Plans (or food safety plans).
- Ensures regulatory compliance with FDA’s FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), CFIA’s PCP (Preventive Controls)/AIMS and the BRC, which includes but is not limited to Prerequisite Programs, Policies, SOPs, etc.; conducting mock recalls and recalls.
- Monitors and verifies food safety programs and facility practices, then takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity of HACCP and AIMS Systems
- Researches and stays well-informed of changes to applicable regulations
- Responsible for delivery of food safety related trainings and orientation to new and existing employees.
- Maintain facility food safety deviation tracker to ensure that preventative measures are driven to completion and sustainable. Closing of correction/corrective action tracker items.
- Performs record review and on-site verifications for CCP operators and/or tasks related to pre-requisite programs and operation pre-requisite programs
- Perform internal audits and reassessments to validate the food safety management system (FSSC and HACCP).
- Assist and support in the preparation and execution of third party audits of all kinds
- Set standards and monitor procedures to ensure food safety at all stages of the operation, including receiving, production, packaging and shipping.
- Lead cross-functional teams and serve as the main conduit of information between the plant and external auditors or government regulators.
- Effective communication of program requirements to relevant personnel and departments to ensure implementation of CFIA/FDA, HACCP and BRC requirements
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary Education in Food Science or related field is requried
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience of related work experience in either quality or manufacturing operations
- Attention to details, bias of action, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, data collection and alaysis, problem solving, decision-making, team work and judgemtn
- Ability to get things done with mimimal supervision and the williningness to work flexible hours including weekends, when required.
- Able to eliminate losses due to human error and insufficient procedures knowledgeable in food safety program requirement, regulatory requirement and transitioning that knowledge to our other departments and able build respect
