**Position Description**:
**Social Worker - Eating Disorder Program**

The Hospital for Sick Children is a leading tertiary pediatric centre providing medical and mental health care to the most complex children and youth and their families. A dynamic clinical, education and research environment, SickKids is committed to excellence in integrated inter-professional care. The Eating Disorders Program (EDP) at SickKids offers a range of services within the outpatient program with the goal of providing highly integrated medical stabilization and mental health assessment and treatment services to patients and families. The integration of services provides inpatient, day treatment and outpatient care to a fully integrated and collaborative model between the Division of Adolescent Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry. Treatment will focus on the delivery of high-quality evidence-based models that ensure care optimizes patients¿ recovery while supporting their parents and caregivers.

**As a Social Worker within the Eating Disorders Program, you will**:

- Provide outpatient and day treatment services inclusive of social work assessments, individual, group, and family therapies.
- Deliver evidence-informed psychotherapeutic interventions inclusive of FBT, DBT, EFFT and/or CBT modalities for patients and families for treatment of eating disorders
- Support and facilitate sector relationships and partnerships that build seamless care pathways between SickKids and other pediatric partners
- Participate as an active and collaborative member of the EDP interdisciplinary health care team
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (hospital, school, and community) to facilitate comprehensive treatment plans and support patients across all activities relevant to their recovery
- Participate in program design and implementation of quality improvement initiatives; support initiatives that evaluate the effectiveness and impact of eating disorders interventions
- Support training and education through the supervision of MSW students at SickKids
- The role requires services to be delivered in-person and through virtual platforms; on site at the hospital is required

**Here¿s What You¿ll Need**:

- Master¿s degree in Social Work from an Accredited University
- Registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers, Social Service Workers
- Two years of post-graduate clinical mental health experience with children youth and families in the areas of day treatment or outpatient therapy - eating disorders specific experience an asset
- Experience in the delivery of evidence-based family therapies such as Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused (EFFT), Motivational (MI/MET) therapies and/or Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with crisis prevention and intervention models
- Demonstrated skills in patient and family engagement, customizing treatment to the needs of patients and families inclusive of trauma informed and culturally competent care and supporting families in all phases of treatment including preparing for transition and discharge.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in culturally competent practice, and extensive understanding of the importance of health equity, diversity, and inclusion in the delivery of healthcare services
