**Position Summary**:
The Project Manager, Opioid and Overdose Response manages and oversees the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the FNHA Opioid Action Plan to support First Nations communities and Indigenous Peoples to address the ongoing impacts of the overdose public health emergency. May represent the FNHA at BC’s Overdose Emergency Response Centre which includes building productive relationships with health authority leads across BC to ensure the needs of First Nations people are prioritized during this crisis. Prioritizes implementation of all aspects of the opioid action plan including supporting initiative leads to plan, implement and evaluate, monitoring the overall budget and recommending necessary adjustments along with ensuring clear briefings and communication with FNHA Executive and across the organization.

**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Works collaboratively and respectfully with First Nations and Indigenous partners, regional and provincial health authorities and internal initiative opioid leads to ensure that the opioid action plan is delivered in alignment with approved deliverables and within budget.
- Develops full scale project plans and schedules and proactively monitors progress to ensure projects are within the applicable schedule and budget
- Monitors, anticipates and identifies project issues and risks, recommends solutions and work with senior management to implement solutions.
- Defines project success criteria in an evaluation plan with regular monitoring
- Utilizes project management processes, tools and templates, and ensures alignment with policies, standards and practices within FNHA
- Communicates effectively and manages project expectations with cross-organization partners and external partners in a timely and clear manner, ensures that presentations and communications materials are appropriate for all audiences.
- Creates executive briefings and provides regular reporting to FNHA Executive, FNHA Initiative Leads and Overdose Emergency Response partners in relation to the project work plan, achievements, evaluation, budget, risks and mitigation strategies.

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, Business, Health Informatics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of recent experience in managing multiple initiatives, complex projects related to program implementation or business transformation
- Recent experience within the last 5 years in all aspects of project or business management, preferably in a health care system or health organization
- Proven experience in risk management and change management
- Proven experience in facilitating committee meetings

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:

- Knowledge of mental health and wellness program development, including harm reduction is required
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management methodology and best practices
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Knowledge of BC and Canadian healthcare system
- Works effectively to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player, including taking direction as required, working well with colleagues
- Excellent business writing skills and ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
