**Primary objectives**:
1. Provides support for the activities of the Environmental Health & Safety Department within a supply chain environment, to ensure that environmental health and safety risks are kept to a minimum through effective compliance with EHS policies, procedures and legislation.

2. Provide Health, Safety and Environmental training and instruction, assist with the promotion of environmental health & safety policies, procedures & operational practices, to provide advice and assist in environmental health & safety projects within their sphere of competency.

3. Provides expertise and assistance in facility health & safety matters.

4. Ensures that operating facilities are in compliance with applicable laws and conforming to the corporate Environmental and Safety Management System (ESMS) requirements. Maintain and develop the ESMS ensuring alignment with current legislation and corporate requirements.

5. Facilitate a culture of safety consciousness and continuous improvement

**KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provides technical knowledge to site management and/or advises EAS colleagues in EHS areas to ensure compliance with regulations and the implementation of programs targeted towards the prevention of injuries and in support of our sustainability goals.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents and preparation of reports with recommendations.
- Provide support and guidance to managers for workplace hazard identification, assisting in risk assessments and implementation of solutions.
- Support and provide coaching to employee-led teams such as Safety Committees, Green Teams, Near Miss Teams, and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Teams. Ensure teams are active participants in global programs, such as BBS.
- Develops and delivers assigned environmental, health and safety training. Update training in response to new legal requirements or changes at the sites; helps ensure training is relevant for the site(s).
- Conduct EHS Audits and inspections to ensure site compliance with EHS processes and procedures.
- Support monthly reporting on EHS metrics as required at both site and corporate levels.
- Support department managers on environmental regulatory requirements and with identifying opportunities for improving sustainability (waste, water and energy reduction).
- Maintains an awareness of new and existing relevant laws, rules and regulations.
- Support department managers with non-conformities to ensure timely compliance.
- Work closely with the Certified Early Intervention Specialists at the campus, as well as with our contract industrial hygienist and ergonomist.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the EHS management system.
- Participates as a member of a Global Process Owner (GPO) group focused on a particular program area to drive enhancements and consistency across ELC.

**Qualifications** Minimum Education Level**:Bachelor’s Degree

**Minimum Years of Experience**:2 - 5 years’ experience in environmental health & safety

**% Travel Time**:5%

**Required Language Proficiency**:English

**Licenses or Certifications**:CRSP certification preferred

**Additional Job Specifications**:

- Knowledge and experience with Canadian (Ontario) regulations.
- Knows and uses fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Ability to understand and communicate technical environmental and safety requirements to both EAS staff and our business partners.
- 2 - 5 years’ experience in environmental health & safety in a manufacturing or distribution center preferred.
- Excellent presentation and communication (written and oral) skills. Ability to adjust communication style based on the situation and the audience.
- Ability to implement tested concepts is required. Self-motivation, ingenuity and ability to drive best practice thinking is needed.
- Effectively communicate and implement established EHS procedures within the defined business areas
- Safety shoes, safety vest and a *face mask are required to be worn as Personal Protective Equipment. COVID 19 testing is required twice a week.
- *Face masks and testing are currently required as a precaution for COVID-19.*
