The **Educational Coordinator** is primarily responsible for organizing the clerkship activities for Year 3 and Year 4 medical students based at Sinai Health. They are also responsible for assisting in organizing clinical exposure/experiences of Year 1 and Year 2 students when needed. The Education Coordinator will work closely with Education Coordinators at other hospitals and with the Undergraduate Medicine Education Coordinator at the University of Toronto Department of Medicine. The Education Coordinator will also assist the Site Directors in recruiting supervisors for necessary educational activities and rotations. The position requires frequent communication with the Site Directors, medical students, Chief Medical Resident, Education Coordinators at other sites, Wightman Berris Academy Director, Undergraduate Medicine Education Coordinator at the University of Toronto Department of Medicine and the Deputy Physician in Chief - Education at Sinai Health/University Health Network. The Education Coordinator will report to the Site Directors at Sinai Health with ultimate reporting and oversight from the Deputy Physician in Chief - Education at Sinai Health/University Health Network.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Managing Clerkship Scheduling and Administration
- Obtains a list of clerks assigned to Sinai Health and creates a detailed rotation schedule for the year based on critical dates provided by the University
- Assists with scheduling/call scheduling of clerks where needed
- Schedules clinical preceptors for the rotation with assistance from the UHN education coordinator for identification of volunteers from each division
- Schedules clerkship educational activities, ambulatory clinic experiences, debriefings and end-of-rotation interviews
- Prepares and maintains files with assessment and other data to inform evaluation
- Tracks student absence requests and coordinates/confirms reporting with the University
- Schedules ambulatory clinics for 3rd year students and distributes schedules to supervisors and students
- Schedules educational rounds, EBM journal club, and seminars for the clerks and develops a master schedule in conjunction with the Site Directors and Chief Medical Resident
- Schedules external debriefing for each rotation and provides reminders to the debrief and students before each session
- Schedule midterm and final evaluations in conjunction with the Site Directors and ensure proper student assignment in Medsis
- Collect and collate assignments/assessments and assist with publishing of marks
- Assist with scheduling selective students on General Internal Medicine rotations and provide welcome package before their rotations
- Provide thank you letters to preceptors, clinic supervisors and teachers identified as outstanding on debriefings
- Performs other duties consistent with the job classification as required by the Deputy Physician in Chief - Education at Sinai Health/University Health Network
- Satisfactory attendance required
- Job Requirements- Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
- Completion of medical, business, office administration post secondary diploma or degree or recognized equivalent
- Five years of related office administration support desired
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Skilled in word processing, datatbase and spreadsheet software required
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills required
- Knowledge of medical and/or education terminology is an asset
- Able to use good judgement in navigating difficult situations
- Able to handle confidential matters
