Eastern College Inc., Halifax campus, is actively seeking to fill the role of **Child and Youth Care Worker Instructor **for our Child and Youth Care Worker Program at our **Halifax campus.**

**Primary Responsibilities**:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide quality delivery of assigned courses utilizing a variety of instruction strategies, techniques and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of the students, in a safe and civil learning environment. Instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and as required, grading class tests, assignments, and exams.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- University degree with major course work in psychology, social work, or child studies OR a child and youth care worker diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience working with youth in a community, educational, or residential facility.
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Management and Suicide Intervention is an asset.
- Intermediate MS Office skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, organizational skills, and a professional attitude.
- Previous teaching experience would be considered an asset.

**Hours of Work**:
This is a** contract **opportunity. Hours of work are** 8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm Monday to Friday. (contract end date of May 10, 2024.**

Halifax campus located at **6940 Mumford Road, Suite 111, Halifax, NS B3L 0B7 (Position is on site)**

**Start Date**:
The scheduled start for this opportunity is **immediate.**
