CAFTCAD is a not-for-profit, professional arts association of individuals interested in promoting Costume Design for film, television and media, from both an artistic and technical perspective. Our mission is to develop an inclusive, equal, and diverse community of costume professionals to be treated with respect and grow together from one another.

**Responsibilities**

Meetings
- Board meetings, 2-3 hours per month/bi-monthly
- General membership meetings, 1-2 hours, 1-2 times per year
- Any special events/committee meetings, as needed
- Offer suggestions/commentary to any agenda items, or notes if unable to attend meetings

General Duties
- Any documents that were handed out a meeting should go into the CAFTCAD Google Drive for future reference
- Maintain regular communication with other board members on all CAFTCAD related business
- Volunteer hours toward whatever initiative(s) are on the table, and/or in the various and ongoing administrative duties to keep CAFTCAD functioning
- Maintain your own records on Google Drive or Dropbox that are needed as reference for future initiatives
- Chair or co-chair at least one initiative or committee each year, or take responsibility for one ongoing task.

Ongoing Duties
- Prepare and record cheques to pay invoices and file receipts
- Create receipts needed for each initiative and track payment
- Keep tabs on the bank account let the Executive Board know at every monthly meeting the balance and how much is yet to come out
- Act as main liaison with accountant and meet with them as necessary, and prepare annually a “Notice to Reader” to be presented at next general membership meeting
- Review budgets for each proposed initiative and monitor expenditures
- Oversee, with the help of CAFTCAD Staff and committee chairs, to prepare and profit and loss statements for each initiative as they are concluded, distribute to executive board and file on dropbox/Google Drive
- Oversee general liability and event based insurance policies for CAFTCAD
- Prepare a yearly operating budget with the budget committee

Membership Services
- Work with the CAFTCAD staff to generate membership invoices
- Liaise with the CAFCTAD staff to keep membership records accurate and complete

**Qualifications**
- Experience in a Treasurer or Bookkeeping role considered an asset
- Accounting experience considered an asset
- Familiarity with bookkeeping software
- Familiarity with Google Workspace
- Excellent organizational skills regarding documentation and file or record-keeping
- Strong verbal and visual financial reporting skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information
- Knowledge of software tools used by the committee
- Solid understanding of budget planning and finance
- Substantial value for ethics and trustworthy operations
- Experience using different methodical approaches for managing finances

While the role of the Treasurer is on a volunteer basis, **we do have a modest hourly rate for the bookkeeping component of this position as well as a yearly honorarium of $500 as Treasurer.** The time commitment involved in this position is roughly **6-10 hours a month**, depending on the time of year.
